Wonton Skins Recipe

I am very sure that everybody prefer buy the ready one to crazyly preparing by themself. Well people,just skip this section if wonton skins easyly find in your place,as I also gonna do if I could find the good one someday.

But consider helping desperate people like me( perhaps theres also ppl outside who doesnt know where to buy wonton skins,or doubt about the quality like me and wonton siumay image everywhere so u cant handle it and prepare to do little hardwork) so this is the recipe.





WONTON SKINS RECIPE

3/4 CUP FLOUR
1 EGG
LITTLE SALT
1/4 CUP WATER( PLS USE IT WISELY DONT POUR DIRECTLY AS I FORGOT WHETHER I FINISHED THIS WATER OR NO )
ROLLING PIN
ADDITIONAL FLOUR FOR WORKING TABLE

METHOD

JUST MIX THEM ALL, MAKE A DOUGH TILL DOUGH IS READY(NOT STICKY TO YOUR HAND)
MAKE A BALL AND ROLL IT...ROLLL ROOLLLLL TILL U FIND THE PERFECT THIN THICKNESS.
AND CUT SQUARE OR ROUND ANY SHAPE U WANT,SIZE SHOULD ENOUGH FOR WONTON/SIUMAY..DONT MAKE THEM TO WIDE.REMEMBER U R MAKING SIUMAY,AND WONTON NOT PARATHA BREAD!!!
IF YOUR SPACE SO SMALL LIKE MINE,
JUST CUT IN RECTANGLE FIRST, AND MAKE IT THINNER ONE BY ONE, AND CUT!!!

Crazy me (Wonton & Siumay)

Its started from a months ago, when I really craving of wonton and siumay.
And its getting worst while seeing Rita-HK posted about her wontons,perhaps u think its easy just hey why u didt go to Chinese Resto and buy wonton..
Well, if Wonton here in Colon are nice then I would asked my hubby to go and buy for me, unfortunatelly I had tried once long time ago while also craving too much of wonton and ending with a huge sadness as the taste far from my imagination.


Then I tried to found wonton skins while I went to Panama City 2 weeks ago,yes I found it,but with a big doubtness,should I buy or no, as I saw a frozen one, its totally frozen till u could see all the ice inside,and I wondering if I thaw this skins, r they gonna looks so nice and I could perfectly used or gonna break? Too much consideration, I took one,then drop,took again and drop again, then bought others things then back again, took again and finally decide not to take it.(Thats typical me,complicated buyer)

When finally I felt my sense of wonton gone,I saw another wonton in Ayin´s blog. ANd yup, It just like waking up a sleeping wonton to the sense.

So finally, last Wednesday afternoon,when the sun was sooooooooo bright and blank whats too cook for dinner, this wonton idea comes again...and yeahh finally with modal nekat, I made my own wonton skins.




Lucky me in the house I have pork( not so often I have pork in the house, usually I buy in a little quantity only for my Jas though she rarely eat)shrimps, chicken bones after doing chicken fillet for lunch, and tofu(thought for mapo friday)

Preparing everything,make the dough,roll them to make it thinner, stuffing the skin,and steam them(1st time using this bamboo steamer hoho finally after sitting only inside the cupboard).
I was trying hard to remember Rita´sillustration how to fold the wonton and finally end up with up to gue style deh. Frankly,siumay is much easier for me, just imagine siumay shape and tralallala...these are my siumay.And great, my tofu also worked well(Panama´s tofu are sooooo soft,too much water I guess, no idea how to make tahu isi with them ,as sometimes to cut small shape for mapo become very messy,lucky me this time I could do a little bit cut and stuffing.




I prepare 2 ways, wonton &tofu gonna enjoy them with the soup. And siumay with the peanut sauce.


Its sweating alot, but ending with happiness in the nite. I enjoyed my siumay first with peanut sauce and rice...and while I felt I need water, I sipped the soup and had the tofu and wonton, alternately. It was sooooooooooooo perfect!!!!

Its a special day

August 17, always be a historical day for me, thats because Independence Day and my birthday.
I never think birthday is so special until I have a baby, then I realize that wow its such a huge bless to get another older with my family around.

I used to celebrate my birthday with Marching around as I was a member of Mandarava Marching Band for about 6 years. So could you imagine for 6 years, I was celebrating my birthday on the road,sunny day,uniform, marching,and playing music with my trumpet? and once I sat on the Istana Merdeka joining their music orchestra and played beautiful songs for my country...
Well its a very nice memorable of my birthday. So,with those condition, I never expected somebody give me a gifts or wishes(though Im always happyly to receive hohoo...


And these years, I celebrated my 3. birthday with my chocolate cake,share it with my Indonesian friends,neighbours and people in the temple.
Had small gathering with friends in Crepes &Waffles(the idea was red&white as this year first time I know there is another 4 Indonesians in Panama,but no one use red or white hahhaha), meanwhile my hubby taking care of my Jasmita, and got gifts from them(I was sooo sosososososososo happy,really I didnt expect it from them)

The only bad part was,170808 is the day and the loteria(lottery number that won for USD2500 was 710888) damn, I was a bit shocked to know.If I bought that number Im gonna get USD2500(well... its really a birthday if I won this lottery,hik)as I bought number 77, and was thinking to buy 170888... but thats more hurting I guess,if I bought 170888 and the number won was 710888.

Promise to my self, next year Im gonna buy lottery and put 710889 or 170809,or 170889..or perhaps friends u wanna share any idea for the rite number??

Curry Pasta

This one become another favourite style to enjoy pasta.
I had this for my last Wednesday and Thursday dinner, yeahhhhh I was too excited knowing sour cream works well with pasta and NO CHEESE needed.

Oh Jen,thanks again for sharing this recipe.

I used thin spaghetti
2 tbsp sour cream, - Jen used Greek Yoghurt
1/2 tsp garam masala
1 1/2tbsp curry powder
Onion,garlic chopped
1/2 Tomato diced
Mushroom
Peas and sweet corn.
1tbsp margarine.
Salt & pepper.
And my fav Panamanian Chili sauce.

Gemblong

I made gemblong for my tea time today. And posted in Multiply for MFM-18 as the theme is FLOUR.
It wasnt my plan to put my homemade pineapple jam for the gemblong filling.
My plan was to have them with a toast bread, or put on the cookies.
But I dont know why, I just dropped them in my gemblong dough.



Frankly,nothing too much different for the taste. Only a bit weird while eating this sticky gemblong and felt also the sweetness of pinapple.


Well, anyway I enjoyed my unusual gemblong, and surprised to see my picky Jas didnt mind to eat it.




GEMBLONG RECIPE with filling

Step 1

1/2 cup Glutinous Rice Flour
Pinch of salt
2 tbsp of grated coconut
4 tbsp water
Mix them together, and make a shape.

Filling : Pineapple jam

If you want to put the filling, then put them in the middle before make a shape.

And deep fry until golden colour.

Step 2

In other pan, melt the palm sugar..and soon it melted drop the gemblong, mix it until all covered nicely.
